President Victor Yushchenko vetoed alterations to the budget increasing financing of the Verkhovna Rada by additional 100 million hryvnyas, he said at his press conference on Thursday, president's press service reported.
According to the President, in times of economic crisis increasing maintenance of any state institution, including the Parliament, is immoral and irrational.
Instead, the President believes, these funds should be used for developing healthcare in Ukraine and implementation of the most socially sensitive programs like fighting children's cancer or tuberculosis, etc.
