The accident that occurred in a Donetsk mine on June 8 left six miners dead and seven others are still missing, Ukraine's Inter television reported on Tuesday, ForUm informs, referring to Kyiv Post.

Rescue teams raised bodies of another three miners to the surface in the early hours of Tuesday. Thirty-six miners are hospitalized, and two of them are in a serious condition.

The explosion took place at the Skochynsky mine owned by the state-run enterprise Donetsk Coal Energy Company at 10:15 a.m. on June 8. The explosion was caused by a coal and gas emission (a gasdynamic event). According to the Ukrainian authorities, there were 51 miners in the area at the time the accident occurred. A total of 344 miners were in the mine at the time of the blast.

38 miners were brought to the surface safely. Rescuers found the bodies of three miners on Monday.

A meeting of the governmental investigatory commission lead by Coal Industry Minister Viktor Poltavets will start at 1000 at the coalmine.
