The Secretary of General People's Committee of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi announced about readiness to develop Ukrainian-Lybian relations in various economical spheres. He informed in the course of his meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko in an enlarged format, government portal reported.

Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi noted cooperation between Ukraine and Lybia had obtained a certain impulse after a visit of the Brotherly Leader to Ukraine while all previous interstate meetings had prepared a basis for cooperation. “Ukraine and Lybia have 27 agreements in various economic spheres: financial, cultural, health protection, aircraft domain, housing and communal services,” the Secretary of General People's Committee of Libya explained.

Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi hopes after the visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Lybia the countries will set to practical implementation of the achieved understandings. In particular, it concerns increase of trade turnover between the two countries, improvement and elimination of obstacles for Lybian investments in Ukraine, abolishment of visa regime, cooperation in gas area and energy.

The Secretary of General People's Committee of Libya also emphasized Ukraine and Libya are capable to maintain bipartite cooperation in oil prospecting and well boring. “We are ready to launch joint programs in oil-gas domain,” the Secretary stressed.

Moreover, Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi accentuated on significance to participate in projects in military-technical area, health protection, peaceful use of nuclear energy. “Lybia has a number of propositions in nuclear energy domain from other countries but we are striving to collaborate in this area with our Ukrainian friends,” he stressed.

“There exist full readiness, a huge desire to cooperate with Ukraine and a hope that understandings will see realization,” Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi said.
