During the all-Ukrainian meeting dedicated to the issues of social-economic development of rural areas the participants have approved an address to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, government portal reported.

In the address the attendees of the event asked the President of Ukraine “to back anti-crisis activity of the Government and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko who bravely and selflessly, without proper support of other power branches manages to respond to those challenges thrown to Ukraine and not experienced by the world economics over a long period”. The heads of councils of villages and rural-type settlements demand from a group of pro-president people’s deputies to back all the draft laws already forwarded or being forwarded by the Cabinet of Ministers on demand of the meeting’s participants. Moreover, attendees of the meeting insist on these laws to be signed by the President and not to litigate in the Constitution Court the decisions approved by the Cabinet of Ministers during its all-Ukrainian meeting.

“Rural and local self-government bodies have long waited for these decisions. Literally, if to look in whole they will lead to revolutionary, deeply positive and long awaited changes. Financial strengthening of local self-governing will, in fact, move the country closer towards the people and the President who is to facilitate these changes will deserve a good record in the books of history,” the address of participants of the all-Ukrainian meeting into the issues of social-economic development of rural areas reads.
