Ex President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma calls cooperation of Ukraine with International Monetary Fund a political decision but not economic one.
“The issue on cooperation with the IMF is likely political decision. The experience of the first tranche proved it: the debt of Ukraine to the IMF only increased but the benefit for Ukraine is just - fata morgana,” Kuchma said, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
Kuchma considers that unacceptable actions of the Ukrainian politicians only worsened consequences of the economic crisis for Ukraine. Crisis was aggravated by populist policy and political struggle in the country.
According to Kuchma, the leadership of the country made a range of serious mistakes, in particular in bank sector and in legislation.
