There are many candidates for the post of US ambassador to Ukraine, outgoing US Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor said at a press conference dedicated to the start of the construction of a new US embassy building in Kyiv.
US Ambassador William Taylor, representatives of Kyiv city council and Ukrainian and American diplomats were present at the ceremony of the beginning of construction, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
Taylor said that Washington has not made a decision yet regarding his successor.
"But I know there is a lot of talk about the issue. There are many candidates who wish to work in Ukraine. There is a competition among those in the United States wishing to come to Ukraine," Taylor said.
