U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor has recommended Ukrainians preserve the democratic system of holding elections and the country's independent mass mediaб Kyiv Post reported.
He said this at a press conference on occasion of a start of the construction of a new building for the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv.
He said that the Ukrainians should cling to the two achievements of the latest years - the democratic way of holding elections and an independent mass media.
The Ukrainian state has showed to the whole world that it is capable of holding the democratic elections, which is the evidence of real democracy, Taylor said.
The second achievement, according to the ambassador, is the appearance of independent mass media in the country.
Taylor's diplomatic mission in Ukraine is coming to an end.
