Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk won the UEFA Cup by defeatingWerder Bremen 2-1in Istanbul on May 20.
The Ukrainian side took the lead through Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano when he scored the opener after 25 minutes at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on Wednesday.
An error by Shakhtar's goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov allowed Werder center-back Naldo to level matters in the 35th minute.
The historical win came after extra times. The regular ninety minutes ended 1-1 with goals by Luis Adriano for Shakhtar and Naldo for Werder. During extra time, Jadson scored the decisive goal for the Ukrainians.
