Two members of the Malaspina Castle bulk carrier crew, who were liberated from the pirate captivity, returned to Odesa, according to Ukrinform

The Somali pirates kept mechanic Andriy Rabchuk and captain's senior assistant Ihor Miroshnychenko over a month. The sailors returned home in their work wear and with a minimum of personal belongings. As UKRINFORM correspondent managed to come to know from the sailors' relatives, the former captives are in the normal physical and psychological state. The sailors are not contacting journalists referring to a wish to communicate with their relatives and adaptation.

On April 6, the pirates captured the British bulk carrier in the Gulf of Aden. First, they demanded USD 10 million from the ship owner. As a result, it took USD 2 million for ship owners of Great Britain to liberate the bulk carrier and the crew. At the same time, Russia took a part of expenses on itself.

As it was reported, on May 19, Somali pirates have released the Patriot ship captured on April 25, with one Ukrainian as a crewmember. Liberation took place due to negotiations of the ship owner with pirates.

For today, 34 Ukrainian sailors, crewmembers of the three captured ships, are in captivity of Somali pirates.
