Kuchma stands for parliamentary elections after the Presidential election

Ex President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma stated on necessity to hold early parliamentary elections after Presidential election. He said that on Inter channel, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

"Any new President who comes to еру power should necessarily address to the people and say: dear friends, if all remains as it is, the country will face more serious processes. We should hold early parliamentary elections," he said.

"If this parliament does not agree voluntarily, then we should help to dissolve this parliament," Kuchma said.

He considers that a newly elected President should "address to the public for them to support the political force, which he represents, in order he really can carry out the necessary policy via the parliament."

Kuchma noted that snap parliamentary elections should not be held before presidential polls.

"The parliament's dissolution means the government's wish to use the available administrative resource, but only after presidential elections," he said.

Commenting on the situation in the country Kuchma said: "It seems to me that the state has become degraded over recent years. There is no government as such in the country. There is a threat of the country's collapse, and this shouldn't be concealed.”
