At the press conference in Switzerland President Yushchenko complimented the decision of the Constitutional Court declaring that the date of presidential election of October 25 as appointed by the Verkhovna Rada was unconstitutional, President's press office reported.
He also called upon parliamentary forces to respect the constitution and expressed asurance that now the Parliament should make a proper decision on the subject.
As a reminder, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine admitted illegal the date of holding Presidential election on October 25, 2009.
Earlier, 401 MPs voted for holding Presidential election on October 25. After that the President Viktor Yushchenko applied to the CCU with request to consider constitutionality of such decision of the VRU.
