The drunken incident with Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko will be a “hot topic” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the next plenary week (on May 12-15). Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn stated this in an interview to journalists on Friday.

At the same time, he considers that the parliament should receive official information, and make “definite conclusions” only basing on it, if any lawmakers and factions insist.

Volodymyr Lytvyn noted that he will propose the parliament to hold consultations on staff issues on May 12, at 14.00 – 16.00. According to him, it will be necessary “to avoid disruption of the Verkhovna Rada’s work”.

Volodymyr Lytvyn stressed that the next week the parliament is due to consider over 100 issues.

As earlier reported, Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko spent half a day in a police station at Frankfurt airport on May 4. The Minister and members of the Ukrainian delegation in a state of acute alcohol intoxication were detained by police.
