Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has obliged local authorities and teplocomunenergo companies to liquidate debts for the consumed natural gas by May 1 of 2009. the Head of Government announced during a selector meeting dedicated to the issues of refunding for the consumed natural gas with heads of local authorities and regional heat communal enterprises, ForUm informs, referring to the governmnet portal.
“There remained three days by the end of month, that’s why it is necessary to perform all necessary steps before May 1 to ensure teplocomunenergo to refund for the natural gas,” the Premier stated.
According to her, by the end of heating season debts of teplocomunenergo for the natural gas had amounted UAH 4.9 mn: “Since January the debts of teplocomunenergo for the consumed gas have doubled. If at the beginning of the year we had over 2 billion hryvnyas of teplocomunenergo debts to the Naftogaz of Ukraine for the consumed natural gas, nowadays we have to admit by the end of the heating season this debt is 4.9 billion hryvnyas”.
The Prime Minister informed the biggest debts belong to Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Simpheropil. The Head of Government stressed this sum is inadmissible as the situation with supplies of the Russian gas to Ukraine may be complicated.
Yulia Tymoshenko urged on heads of the local authorities and teplocomunenergo to solve the issues of debts during the three days.
