"The declaration should not be considered as something bad for Russia. The Russian Federation can still be involved in the reconstruction and modernization like any other country. Mr Barroso and the other EU officials confirmed this yesterday, as I did myself," Tymoshenko said in Kyiv on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
"However, I want to point out that the fundamental interests of Ukraine in the energy sector are now protected for several decades," she said, adding that "yesterday neither Europe nor Russia lost, but Ukraine merely protected its national interests, its main gas transit pipeline."
"I think, that the government should act this way, as well as the prime minister," Tymoshenko said.
