The first vice speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych emphasizes that the Constitution of Ukraine does not provide for the prohibition of early parliamentary elections before the presidential election, parliament's press office reported.
"There
is no prohibition. There is only a right of the president on the pre-termed dismissal of the parliament. And the president looses this right a half a year before the
pre-termed presidential election," he said.
Lavrynovych supposes that early parliamentary elections, as well early presidential one, should be held as soon as possible unless the current authorities do not want to voluntary retire.
