Ukraine is holding negotiations at the level of experts regarding the possible provision of financial assistance to tackle the financial and economic crises, the director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's economic cooperation department, Pavlo Sultansky, said at a meeting of the press club on Thursday, Ukrinform reported.

He said that talks are currently being held with a number of financial institutions and countries, including the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Sweden, and Japan.

The diplomat said that the outcome of these talks had shown that all of these countries currently have no funds they could provide to Ukraine. "However, some countries are ready to provide funds to Ukraine through international financial institutions," Sultansky said.

He said that at present, the provision of loans to the country had not been officially confirmed.
