The gas price for the population and energy companies will remain unchangeable in 2009, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told a briefing today.
The Head of Government reminded that by the President’s decree, the National Commission on Regulation of Power Industry of Ukraine had increased the gas price for population by 35% in December 2008. “I believe, such things are unacceptable in the current crisis situation,” the Premier said.

According to Tymoshenko, the government has succeeded to ensure invariability of the gas price for population and energy companies in 2009, Cabinet's press office reproted.
“The government upheld that price in 2009 for the population will be unchangeable,” the Prime Minister stressed. At the same time, according to Tymoshenko, the gas price for industrial enterprises will be adjusted every month according to average hryvnia rate against dollar.
