An inspection group which comprises also the Euro-2012 director Martin Kallen, UEFA commercial director Philippe Margraff, head of sponsor committee and championship development Alan Ridley and head of Euro-2012 subdivision for organization of events Lucas Ackermann will visit 5 Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Odesa and Lviv. High guests on their Ukrainian tour will be accompanied by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasiunyk and President of Football Federation (FFU) Hryhoriy Surkis. It was reported earlier, in October 2008 David Taylor had visited Donetsk already.
On their first day the UEFA inspectors will get familiarized with the course of preparation to the continental finals in Kyiv. They have already attended the Boryspil airport and the Olympiysky national sport complex. UEFA representatives also plan to visit the central railway terminal, Maydan Nezalezhnosti (the Independence Square) and Khreshchatyk street, where an official UEFA fan zone is planned to place. Besides, for the experts a series of meetings is on the agenda, including with heads of the capital, central executive authorities and main municipal objects of Euro-2012 infrastructure.
In the evening the UEFA official delegation, Govt’s members and FFU will fly to Kharkiv. During the following three days they will visit four more cities, where they are to study the course of reconstruction of airports, work of railway terminals and building of stadiums and where they will meet leaders of regions.
On Thursday, February 5 the UEFA delegation will depart for Krakow. It should be reminded, this visit is one of the most important stages to checks readiness of our state to the Euro-2012, which will result into a final decision concerning maximum four Ukrainian cities to host matches of the championship.
