The
National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will conduct a third currency auction on
Dec. 3, the bank said in a letter as of December 2, 2008.
"On Dec. 3 this year, the NBU will organize a currency intervention on the sale of U.S. dollars per hryvnias by holding a currency auction... The authorized banks that are planning to participate in the auction should by Dec. 2 transfer a 100 percent money prepayment in hryvnia to pay for foreign currency from the NBU," the letter says .
It will be the third auction of the NBU on selling dollars. For the first time, the National Bank carried out a foreign exchange intervention through an auction on November 19 this year. The previous auction took place on November 26.
