The Constitutional Court of
Ukraine received an appeal from the parliament of Crimea disputing the legality of the ban imposed
on broadcasting of a number of foreign TV channels including Russian ones.
Press office of the court reported.
“We follow the constitutional
order and defend rights of Crimean citizens to get information they consider as
necessary,” speaker of Crimean parliament Anatoly Hrytsenko said on Sunday.
As a reminder, the National
council on TV and radio broadcast banned a number of foreign TV channels, which
doe not meet the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
