"Ukraine's debt of 2.5 billiob dollars is personal responsibility of the government," Yushchenko said at the session of the NAtional Security and Defesne Council on Friday.

He underlined that the goverment had not made any calculations regarding the gas price.

The president charged the government with a job to present the calculations of gas relations with Russia within five days.

"Some days ago you reported that the gas issue is settle. Now I want to prove it within five days, starting with the calculations," he said.

The head of state noted that the government should not involve "a person and the nation" into this issue, but mustaccount for this itself.

According to Yushchenko, he alsways stood for the market relations with Russia, including the rent for Ukrainian land used by Russian Black Sea Fleet and the tarrifs for gas transit.
