Ukraine holds talks with the USA about acquisition of a written off naval vessel. Washington does not intend to transfer it to Ukraine without compensation, the Minister on Defence of Ukraine Yuriy Yekahnurov told.
"It will be a purchase. But the talks have not yet eve begun. A new vessel costs about $400 million, a written off one costs about $50-60 million," he told in an interview to the "Tyzhden" ("Week") magazine.
At the same time the Minister reminded that Kyiv is carrying out our own Ukrainian corvette", but "things are slack."
