According to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, referring to the data of registry offices, more than 106 thousand couples got married in Ukraine during July-September, while only 48 thousand couples got married during April-June of 2008.
On the whole, the ratio of divorces to marriages made up 36% in the third quarter of the year 2008.
The least number of divorces was traditionally recorded in the western regions of Ukraine – Volyn, Ivano-Frankisvk, Zakarpattya, Lviv, and Rivne Oblasts, where 1 divorce fell on every 3-4 marriages.
The worst ratio was recorded in the Kirovohrad and Chernivtsi Oblasts, where 1 divorce fell on almost 1 marriage.
On the whole, 38 thousand 437 couples divorces in the third quarter of 2008 in Ukraine.
