Odessa activists of the all-Ukrainian
union “Freedom” intend to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the
formation of the Ukrainian rebel army (UPA) on October 14, but keep the time
and place of the ceremony a secret.
At the same time, Odessa communist are ready to repulse the supporters
of OUN-UPA and to prevent the march of nationalists along the city streets.
According to a CPU representative, a column of UPA followers tried to attack
the office of the party last year.
“We were not ready to such
turn-up, but now we will meet nationalists fully armed,” a CPU member said.
