According to the data of pool conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre in September, about a half of the Ukrainians stood for independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Valeriy Fyodorov, director-general of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre told at the press-conference in Moscow.

"Answering the question about recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, 71% of the residents of Russia told that they supported idea of recognition of two republics, when in Ukraine 46% of respondents supported recognition", he told.
