Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko claimed to a press conference today that he does not consider himself a "President's quota".

He said: "I don't consider myself a President's quota. I believe that, at that moment (when the Interior Minister was appointed - ed.), the President, having consulted with parties, proposed the right candidacy for the post of Interior Minister".

Yuriy Lutsenko noted that it was the parliament that voted for his candidacy, so he was hired by parliament.

"I don't see any reasons to follow the stupid adventurous idea of Baloha and to destroy the government. Despite some formalities in the course of my appointment, my main employer is the elector, and the decision about my appointment was made by parliament. I will keep on working (as Interior Minister of Ukraine - ed.) until the current government formally operates," Yuriy Lutsenko stressed.

He added that if President's Chief of Staff Victor Baloha "succeeds in destroying the government", he will resign "together with other colleagues", but until that moment he is not going to "leave his chair".
