SDPU(U) ex-leader Victor Medvedchuk has brought a suit on honor protection to the Shevchenkivskiy district court of Kyiv against the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and SBU acting chief Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, SDPU(U) press-service reported.

V.Medvedchuk demands to declare not true and unreliable the information voiced on September 11, 2008 by V.Nalyvaychenko, who said that V.Medvedchuk violated the electoral legislation in the process of his campaigning at the election to the Kyiv Council.

As reported earlier, on September11, investigators of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), within frames of investigating into a criminal case, issued a summons to ex-Chief of Staff Victor Medvedchuk “because of his anti-state activities”. SBU acting head Valentyn Nalyvaychenko claimed this to a press conference that SBU had been carrying out a number of other procedures within frames of the investigation into Medvedchuk’s activities and in order to prevent infringement upon the constitutional regime of Ukraine. SBU is probing into statements of Ukrainian businessmen who complained that they were pressed to give money for so-called project “Elections-2010” on behalf of Medvedchuk, Nalyvaychenko said.
