The Congress
of Ukrainian Nationalists appealed to the Justice Minister yesterday, August 4,
with the request to cancel the state registration of the Communist Party of
Ukraine.
The Congress considers that
the program of CPU contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine and the law of
“A political force, which openly ignores the state symbols of Ukraine – National Emblem, Flag and National Anthem and is the heir of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, must be prohibited on the territory of independent Ukraine,” the appeal states.
The leader of the Communist Party Petro Symonenko refused to give any comments on the appela and suggested to see a doctor.
“I am not a doctor, so I
cannot say anything about the level of health of such patients,” he said commenting
on the appeal.
