Government decides to attract unemployed to liquidate flood consequences

The Cabinet permitted to attract the unemployed to paid works on liquidation of flood consequences in Ukraine's western regions. Such paid works will be financed at the expense of local budgets of the flood-hit regions, as well as at the expense of the Fund of Compulsory State Social Insurance in case of unemployment.

The Labor and Social Policy Ministry came out with an initiative to attract the unemployed to works on mitigation of flood consequences, Cabinet's press office reports.

We shall remind, that out of six flood-hit western regions (Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Vinyytsia, Chernivtsi, Trancarpathia and Ternopil regions), where the unemployment level has been traditionally higher against the average level in the country, the highest unemployment levels over six months have been fixed in the Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions (by 9.5 percent).
