The government system of our country remains Soviet and very out-of-date.

The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Petro Krupko expressed his opinion to IMC news agency in response to the question whether the number of ministries, which often duplicate each other functions, should be reduced in Ukraine.

According to Krupko, audit or inventory of Cabinet’s functions have never been conducted in Ukraine.

“It is necessary to make a list of functions and divide them into spheres. It will answer the question how many ministries we need,” he noted.

The Minister also considers that the number of ministries and central bodies, including state committee and departments, in Ukraine is unjustified.

“We need the political will to revise our system of government, and I don’t see any,” he summed up.

As a reminder, Ukraine has 20 ministers now.
