New designer to reconstruct Olimpiysky stadium's has been chosen

The Ukrainian Family, Youth and Sports Ministry is waiting for the signing of an agreement with a new general reconstruction designer of the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex on July 23.

"In accordance with the approved plan, all operations should be conducted by July 23. This means that the contract will be ready for the signing by this date," Minister Yuri Pavlenko said at a briefing on Wednesday.

Pavlenko said that the Cabinet of Ministers had backed the decision taken by the interim working group to break off any negotiations with Archasia Design Group and hold talks with other participants in the tender to reconstruct the stadium. "The work on signing contracts is currently being held," the minister said.

Pavlenko said that a general designer might also be a general contractor of the stadium's reconstruction. "[There might also be] another variant - separate contractor can be chosen, but it can really cooperate with the general designer," he said.
