Ukraine's, Poland's PMs agree on coordination of work during Euro-2012

The Heads of Governments of Poland and Ukraine have agreed on coordination of activity along all the directions of gearing-up for the finals of the Football European Championship Euro-2012. Such an agreement has been achieved during the first sitting of Intergovernmental Ukraine-Poland Committee on Preparing and Hosting of the Euro-2012 which took place today in Poland under the leadership of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and the Head of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk.

Yulia Tymoshenko announced that holding of the mentioned event becomes evidence that Ukraine and Poland are launching tight communication activity between the states with regard to preparing of the Euro-2012. According to her, notably, an understanding has been achieved to create a group in certain cooperation directions within the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Polish Committee. “We have exchanged with action plans of our states in terms of Euro-2012 in order to feel the direction of actions of each other,” Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.

Moreover, according to her, in the course of the meeting an agreement on bilateral support of all the projects connected with development of infrastructure, particularly, concerning building of a high-quality transit highway Lviv-Krakow, has been reached. Yulia Tymoshenko also stated that Ukrainian and Polish Governments assume obligations to timely finish construction of main stadiums of the countries, which, she was heard as saying, would become a pledge of qualitative hosting of the Euro-2012.

Furthermore, the heads of governments of Ukraine and Poland has consented to coordination of a joint information policy in terms of coverage of the Euro-2012. Yulia Tymoshenko also expressed her thought that Ukraine and Poland would be helpful to agree on elaboration of a joint system of reports for the UEFA leaders concerning preparing to the football championship.

“It is evident today that both of the governments’ heads have assumed a joint responsibility for gearing up to the Euro-2012 and will lead their teams to the victory,” the Head of Ukraine’s Governments declared.
