The negotiations on
long-term five-year contract between Ukraine
and Russia in the gas sphere
will not start until Ukraine
pays all debts to the Russian
Federation and companies-suppliers. The
total debt of Ukraine
for gas makes about $2.5 milliard.
The director of the Ukrainian institute of energy researches Kostyantyn Borodin said at the press conference in “InterMedia consulting” media hall.
"The negative tendency is that the suppression of this fact leads to increase of debts," he noted.
He also noted that the Russian side is actively preparing for a gas war that will be started this autumn.
