The budget amendments of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko coincide with the amendments of the Party of Regions, said ex-minister of finances, people’s deputy from PR Mykola Azarov at the today’s briefing, as ForUm’s correspondent reports.
He expresses regrets that the parliament and the president are not authorized to introduce amendments to the budget, because according to the legislation it is an exclusive authority of the government, which is the subject of the budgetary process.
In his point of view, the Secretariat economists “must understand this budget can lead to total unbalance in the monetary-credit and financial system”.
Azarov reminded that Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko mentioned about UAH 30 billion of income to the budget. “It is nothing more than the inflation income, caused by the growing prices… and the President is right to tell how to use it whether to push up the inflation or limit it. That is the discussion. It seems like the Government doesn’t think how to manage with the inflation but how to please the electorate. But it is not the function of the government,” said the parliamentarian.
As ForUm reported earlier, on July 10, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko introduced a draft law about the amendments to State budget 2008 to the Verkhovna Rada.
