President of the Charity Fund “Development of Ukraine”, Rynat Ahmetov initiated new all-Ukrainian project: Cancer is curable. Timely detection and treatment of oncological diseases in Ukraine.
The Fund is to purchase unique equipment to treat oncological diseases. The total budget of the project is 200 million hryvnias.
According to Ahmetov, there are 910267 officially registered cancer patients. Annually, this figure increases by 160,000 people. And another 90,000 die every year. It is horrible. – And there is a question: what can be done? There is one answer – not to give up, to fight and overcome,” as Korrespondent reports.
The National institute of cancer in Kyiv established a radiation centre with another positron of emission tomography (PET), and also other diagnostic and treatment equipment. 50 million hryvnias were assigned for this by the Fund.
The Charity Fund Development of Ukraine assigned 50 million hryvnias for treatment of oncological diseases in the western regions of Ukraine. The designated purpose of this aid will be estimated in the nearest future. The total time for implementing the project is one year.
The first patients will be treated in a year.
Anatoliy Zabolotnyi, director of the Charity Fund “Development of Ukraine” said they give this equipment to the state clinics, which work for common people. But it doesn’t mean they just give the equipment. They will provide the control and guarantee the affordability of services to those who need them.
