Summer holidays of the people’s deputies will cost the state at least UAH 15 million.
By July 8, 2/3 of all people’s deputies had already applied for summer holiday. If the Parliament doesn’t extend its work, the parliament recess will start on July 18. By this date, besides the holiday pay, the parliamentarian must receive additional 35,000 hryvnias for health improvement. According to “regional” deputy Anna Herman, the right for such benefits from the state is automatically given to every parliamentarian, who applied to the bodies of VR. Health improvement of all 450 people’s deputies will cost the state treasury about 15 million hryvnias. And 60 millions hryvnias is assigned by the state for maintenance of the sanatoriums visited by the people’s deputies, according to Delo.
The benefits for health improvement are fixed at the amount of 2 month salaries, as written in the provisional expenses of Verkhovna Rada for 2008. As the average income of the parliamentarian is 17,500 hryvnias, summer holiday of each people’s deputy will cost the state about 35,000 hryvnias.
