President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated that Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Arseniy Yatsenyuk must be the main moderator of the negotiations regarding the activity of the coalition.

As ForUm was reported at the President’s press office, this stand of the President was presented by President’s press-secretary Iryna Vannikova.

“The President believes the key figures to settle the problem in the coalition will be the Parliament’s head, the Cabinet’s head and the leaders of BYuT and NU-NS factions. They are to determine the activity of the coalition and its cooperation with the Cabinet of Ministers,” said Iryna Vannikova.

“The President will support the coordinating plan of the faction leaders, which will be realistic and based on clear agreements. Viktor Yushchenko expects the participants of the negotiations will not offer declarations but a list of clear, successive steps which will rehabilitate the reputation of the majority,” said the President’s press secretary.

The Head of the state is sure the Parliament’s majority must demonstrate its effectiveness to the public, through the effective voting in the session hall. Adoption of laws, in particular those secured by the coalition agreement, adoption of the amendments to the state budget will become a persuasive evidence of the effectiveness of the present coalition”.

In case the majority doesn’t confirm its existence de facto the President will look for other political ways to overcome negative processes in the Parliament.
