Tymoshenko about amendments to state budget 2008

Making amendments to 2008 State Budget will give a serious impulse for the development of national industry and will afford to improve social payments. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated during her meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk and leaders of parliamentary coalition factions, the Cabinet's press service reports. 

 

The Head of Government said owing to the activity of the whole country and the Government there exist grounds to make changes into the State Budget. Among them, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, high economic growth – at the level of 6.4%, record amounts of foreign investments drawn to the Ukraine’s economy (fourfold against the analogous period of the last year), slowing down of inflation processes, extra incomes from de-shadowing of economy. Premier stressed “this enabled Government to envisage in the consolidated budget additional UAH 30.4 billion”.

 

“Because of making changes to the budget we are capable of implementing the state programs today, of giving a serious impulse for the development of plane-construction and space industries, of financing construction of roads, supporting national publishing, ensuring state order for enterprises of defense-industrial complex, increasing wages for budget employees from September 1. It is a powerful instrument long awaited by the society,” the Head of Government emphasized.

 

At the meeting Yulia Tymoshenko said the Government is ready to submit to the Parliament a draft State Target Program for preparing and holding in Ukraine European Football Championship 2012.

 

“Euro-2012 appears not only an actual section of our activity the Government actually possesses the State Target Program for preparing Euro-2012 for today which has to be approved by the law. We are ready to forward it to the Parliament to endorse,” Premier noted.
