Executive director of the Joint UN Program on HIV/AIDS (UN AIDS) Peter Piot states that during the last years there is a slow down in spreading of HIV/AIDS around the world, except Russia, Ukraine, Chine and the US, according to the UNO press center.
However, Piot noted that every day almost 7000 people are infected with HIV. The epidemic tends to have a woman’s face now.
According to the executive director, states should strengthen their health care and have not just more financing, but stable and more predictable financing used to prevent pandemia and provide assistance to the infected ones.
