Kostyantyn Hryshchenko became a new ambassador of Ukraine in the Russian Federation, as assigned by the decree of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko of June 10. Another decree specified that the ambassador of Ukraine in RF is also one of the deputies of the RNBO secretary.

In April 2008, Hryshchenko became the first deputy of the RNBO secretary. In 2006-2007, he was a counselor of the prime minister of Ukraine, also worked in the Yanukovych’s government in opposition as a minister of foreign affairs.

Hryshchenko was heading the ministry of foreign affairs in 2003-2005. He became an ambassador of Ukraine in the USA in 2000.In 1998-2000 he headed the mission of Ukraine to NATO, he was an ambassador of Ukraine in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg, constant representative of Ukraine in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, also a deputy-minister of foreign affairs in 1995-1998.

Hryshchenko was born in Kyiv, on October 28, 1953.In 1975 he graduated Moscow National Institute of Foreign Affairs (faculty of international law). He began his diplomatic career at the UNO secretariat in New-York (1976-1980) then worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USSR (1981-1991) and later in the MFA of independent Ukraine.
