Yekhanurov: Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready to join NATO MAP

Minister of Defense Yuriy Yekhanurov says the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Georgia are the most prepared to join NATO compared with other departments. Yekhanurov stated in his interview with journalists in Gori, Georgia.

‘Ukraine and Georgia are preparing to join NATO. And as I understand Armed Forces are an engine of movement,’ said the Minister.

He also said Armed Forces got few complaints while there were difficulties with public opinion in Ukraine (regarding joining NATO), and Georgia has problems with territorial integrity.

‘Armed forces of Georgia and Ukraine are the most prepared to join NATO Membership Action Plan, still joining NATO is in future, we should get MAP first,’ said the Minister.

According to Yekhanurov, the consultations between Ukraine and NATO in Brussels will be held next week and the Head of Ukrainian Defense department will be the participant.
