President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko asked faction of the OU-PSD parliamentary bloc to support his propositions on the amendments to the State budget for 2008 during the consideration in the VRU. People’s deputy Pavlo Zhebrivsky stated in an interview with journalists after the meeting of the faction with the President.
Answering the question, whether there were People’s deputies from the OU-PSD Zhebrivsky said that Taras Stetskiv was present. As earlier reported, the “People’s Self-Defense” party had refused to take part in the meeting with the President.
People’s deputy from the OU-PSD faction Ivan Plyushch stated that Yushchenko had asked People’s deputies to follow the coalition agreement and to adopt first of all draft laws which are foreseen in it.
According to Plyushch, the President criticized the position of the faction during the voting on amendments to the State budget. Yushchenko said that he had spoken with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Minister of Finance Viktor Pynzenyk on this issue and they were not against his propositions.
“I think this meeting has become traditional on the eve of the plenary session,” Plyushch said.
