People’s deputy from the BYuT Ostap Semerak during the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly called upon the leadership of Germany to support Ukraine’s joining NATO Membership Action Plan.
In particular, at the sitting of the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly which took place with the participation of Secretary General of the alliance, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer the results of the Bucharest summit and prospective of Ukraine and Georgia to join MAP were discussed.
The Ukrainian politician in his speech called upon German leadership to determine particular steps which German is ready to do in order to bring closer Ukraine’s joining MAP.
According to Ostap Semerak, the support of Berlin would sufficiently assist Ukraine to receive invitation to join MAP at the next NATO summit in December, 2008.
