President Viktor Yushchenko pronounced a speech before joint meeting of the Senate, and the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada. President's press office reports.
“We appreciate our friendship and we believe in it,” Viktor Yushchenko said in his address. “We are grateful for the support that Ukraine has always seen from Canada… We highly appreciate our present-day relations, which have their own unique feature – a feature of brotherhood,” he stressed.
Then Viktor Yushchenko dwelled on Ukraine’s internal political and economic situation, European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of our country, etc.
Separately he expressed hope that Canadian Parliament would recognize Holodomor 1932-1933 genocide against Ukrainian nation.
