Ukraine hopes to launch talks this year with the European Commission to draw up a "road map" the fulfillment of which would envisage a visa-free travels of Ukrainian citizens to the European Union. This was disclosed by Deputy Foreign Minister Konstiantyn Yeliseyev at a round table entitled "Experience of Integration of Central and Southeast Europe Countries to the EU and Ukraine". Cabinet's press service reports.
According to Yeliseyev, the "road map" should include clear requirements in line with the Schengen criteria Ukraine is to achieve in order to introduce a visa-free regime.
Apart from this, the Deputy Foreign Minister focused on the singed bilateral agreements on the local border movement with the neighboring EU member-states. He expressed hopes that the Polish Sejm will soon ratify such agreement, and the Ukrainians, who reside in a 30-50 km border line, will be able to visit Poland without troubles.
