Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated that yesterday’s independent testing on Ukrainian language and literature was held quietly. She stated today at the enhanced sitting of the Cabinet, the ForUm’s correspondent reports.
The Prime Minister informed that 92,5% of registered pupils took part in the independent testing.
Tymoshenko emphasized that the main task of today’s government’s sitting is studying of the situation concerning the independent testing. “We want to understand how the independent testing is comprehended by institutes of higher education, pupils, and parents,” she noted.
The head of the Cabinet emphasized that the independent testing is “the model, which minimizes corrupted schemes and models”. “But we must be careful in order not to turn the struggle against corruption into the struggle against own children,” the PM noted.
Tymoshenko assured that the discussion concerning this question will be continued. She paid attention that the transfer of Ukraine to 100% testing is “absolute positive”.
“We will take a final decision, depending on how many children enter institutes of higher education, how many of them pass necessary points for entering,” she summarized.
