The European Commission knows about problems with visa issuance for Ukrainians, but first of all it wants to improve this procedure for the countries of the Western Balkans. Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for transport stated at the session of the European parliament.

“The European commission knows how this takes place, how people must apply for visas and wait for a long period of time, and sometimes it seems that the EU has dissociated from them,” he said.

The Vice President of the European Commission has noted that for today such problems exist in the countries of the Western Balkans. According to him, the European Commission tries to improve procedures of visas issuance for these countries. “I’m sure that if we mange to do this there, we will be able to do this for such countries as Ukraine,” Barrot said.
