President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko met with Managing director of the World Bank, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The press office of the Head of the State informs.

During the meeting the sides discussed current questions of the World Bank’s activity in Ukraine, modern tendencies in the global economy and their consequences for Ukraine.

“Ukraine highly appreciates help of the Bank, which has been supported our State for 16 years and gives considerable recourses for development and reforms advancement,” Yushchenko emphasized.

In particular, he has expressed hope that the Bank will continue the realization in Ukraine such important projects as “Control over tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS” and “Issuance of the State acts for land ownership in rural area and development of cadastre system”.
