President Viktor Yushchenko took part in opening of the Control Station of the Egyptian satellite Misr Sat-1, which had been constructed in Ukraine by specialists from both countries. President's press office reports.
“I congratulate everyone with [completion] of this project. It signifies partnership between Ukraine and Egypt successfully reaching a new level,” President said at the ceremony. He also stressed that Ukraine and Egypt have a great potential of further development of their cooperation in space exploration field. Viktor Yushchenko expressed gratitude to all those specialists from both Ukraine and Egypt, who contributed to realization of the project.
At the facility President was shown a video presentation on technical capabilities of the Control Station and took a tour of the complex.
Together with President were Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko and Director General of National Space Agency of Ukraine Yuriy Alekseev.
