President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko calls results of NATO summit as historical and states that the position of all NATO countries-members concerning Ukraine “surpassed all expectations”. He stated in an interview to TV channel “Inter” on Sunday evening.

Yushchenko has noted that NATO membership is the aim for Ukraine. “Sorry, not MAP, but NATO membership. This is our aim,” he emphasized.

“When we speak that we must move, then this summit is historical. It gave an answer - all countries, 26 NATO countries… unanimously expressed their opinion concerning Ukraine’s membership in NATO,” he emphasized.
